ISLAMABAD: Former Managing Director (MD) Associate Press of Pakistan (APP) and senior Journalist, Masood Malik passed away on Tuesday after a year-long battle with cancer.
He was retired from APP in October last year and the same year he was diagnosed a cancer. He was hospitalized at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences PIMS till his death.
Malik was appointed MD, APP in 2015 and retired in 2018. He was previously the Resident Editor of Daily Dunya, an Urdu language newspaper of the Dunya Media Group. Before joining Dunya in December 2001, he worked for Ausaf while Nawa-i-Waqt was the first regular newspaper he joined as a reporter.
His funeral prayer will be offered on December 11 at H-11 graveyard. Pakistan Federation Union of Journalist PFUJ and National Press Club NPC expressed deep sorrow over the death of Mr Malik.
