Islamabad: The Metropolitan Corporation (MCI) on Thursday collected 60 tons of garbage from Peshawar Mor Interchange after Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F’s called off Aazadi March on November 13.
Director Satiation MCI Sardar Khan Zimri told PENOG News that MIC carried out operation at Peshawar More Interchange and Kashmir Highway to clean the protest site after JUI-F ended its Aazadi March.
He said that during the operation, over 200 hundred sanitary workers of MCI participated in the operation and collected 60 tons of garbage from Kashmir Highway, Peshawar More Interchange and its adjacent areas.
The official further told that operation will be continue till November 15 and it is expected that 100 tons of garbage will be disposed of from the protest site.
Aazadi March was started on Oct 27 from Sukkur and reached Islamabad on November 1. However, JUI-F called off the Aazadi March while executing Plan B.
Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad Hazma Shafqaat while positing a tweet said that: “Rise and Shine Islamabad, Dharna site being cleaned up early in the morning. we hope to keepp the city up and running today. It is reported that 26 No. Chungi (G T Road) might be blocked after 1 pm but will try out best that commuters don’t face any issue,”
